The Beet & Cherry Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

Any sort or form of inflammation can’t be good for your body. It has been linked to weight gain, joint pain, heart disease, acne, bloating and fatigue. If you aren’t quite sure what is causing it, try cutting down things like sugar, alcohol, saturated fats, refined carbs and gluten might be a good start.

This kick-ass anti-inflammatory beet and cheery smoothie packs a healthy dose of fruits ready to fight inflammation but if you are feeling extra cheeky and want to kick things up a notch, add in a handful of dark leafy greens. Spinach can’t hurt.

The Beet & Cherry Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
  • 1 or 2 small beets, cut into quarters.
  • Half a cup of frozen pitted cherries.
  • Half a frozen banana.
  • 1 tablespoon of almonds (or almond butter).

Preparation instructions:

  • Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth.

And by the way, incorporating at least a few of the below into your daily diet should help with the inflammation:

  • Fatty fish.
  • Dark leafy greens.
  • Raw nuts.
  • Olive oil.
  • Tomatoes.
  • Beets.
  • Berries.
  • Cherries.
  • Ginger.
  • Turmeric.
  • Garlic.
