Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

A number of people have been praising my green protein smoothie but I think if you stick to the same recipe over and over, it can become a bit boring.

It’s 2017 and yet I realise there still are people out there whom don’t rev up their blender in the morning. Like if my apartment caught on fire, I would first grab my smoothie, then probably my Burberry’s, and then run out the door. Everyone has their priorities.

The other morning I decided to get a little creative in the kitchen again (more so with my camera than my smoothie ingredients 😊) and put together a new concoction for y’all before racing in for work.

I figured I best bring it back to the basics. Ease you guys (back) in. A strawberry banana protein smoothie that is simple enough to make, yet very delicious. So those of you that are new to the blender game will have no trouble at all.

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
  • Half frozen banana.
  • Big handful of frozen strawberries.
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein.

Preparation instructions:

  • Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth.

For the vets out there get creative with this one and add in some extras like flax meal, chia seeds or maca powder. Spinach and/or kale to make it green are completely optional.

And here’s my little secret. I peel a bunch of bananas ahead of time, break them into large chunks, place them in a ziplock bag and I store them in the freezer. That way they are ready to go when I need them and they will cool my smoothie real nice.
