For the past three years I have tried to keep this to myself as much as possible as I didn’t feel too comfortable talking about it. I would have never thought I’d be opening myself up so completely, especially to my social media friends. There still is this huge, black void in my core. But as times goes on, we learn to deal with things, or at least, adapt.
This time three years ago, mum passed away. She fought and fought but ultimately, the horrible disease that cancer is has taken her away. I have decided to set up this fundraiser to honour her life and to support the fantastic institution and the team over at the Forest Holme Hospice in Poole.
Even though I try to always keep myself in shape and have a passion for health and fitness, it is not very often that I compete. I am putting myself through 12 weeks of rigorous training and a significant calorie deficit and as a consequence, this journey isn’t going to be easy. It is however my mission to carry her spirit and love of life forward. There is not a great deal I can do for the current Poole Hospice patients but one thing I can do is try to raise some money for the establishment. Throughout the remaining 10 weeks of my journey this fundraiser will be open, so please donate generously.
